We’re making Voting Emphasis Week preparation as easy as possible.Voting Emphasis Week PreparationArmed Forces and Overseas Citizens Voters Weeks are right around the corner!
From June 28 to July 4, the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) will be supporting Voting Assistance Officers in maximizing the importance of voter registration as part of Independence Day messaging and activities.
As a reminder, FVAP recommends voters use the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to register to vote and request an absentee ballot by Aug. 1 to ensure they can participate in midterm elections on November 8.
Here are some important things to remind voters of during Armed Forces and Overseas Citizens Voters Week:
Submitting your FPCA early is the best way to help ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible.Using the FPCA provides voters with an option to receive blank balloting materials electronically – and states send the ballots out 45 days before the election.Using the FPCA allows voters to use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) as a backup ballot, if needed.Voters can follow-up with their election offices to be sure their request was processed.
To support your Independance Day efforts, we’ve created Armed Forces and Overseas Citizens Voters Week toolkits with resources to help make the process as easy as possible.
Inside the toolkits you’ll find:
Social media posts and graphics for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.Infographics for social media or sharing directly with voters. Wallet cards to distribute to voters as a reminder of the absentee voting process. A detailed flowchart for voters to follow along through the absentee voting process.
